William MacLeod (Rev.), who was born, 31t May 1827, at Fochabers, and
emigrated, with his younger brother, Thomas, to Newhaven, Conn., U.S.A.
He studied at Oberbin College, Ohio, Andover Theological Seminary,
Mass., and Yale College, where he graduated M.A. He was called to a
church at South Denver, Mass. and afterwards held the chair of Doctrinal
Theology at Andover Seminary. He retired to Malden, Mass., and died in
1889. It is said that he was a 'striking figure and an eloquent preacher'.
The Rev. William MacLeod Barber married, in Detroit, Edith A. Ransom,
with issue.
